Description

I decided to go after a less popular imaging target after a long weather-induced layoff of photon gathering just for something different. The moon was waxing to the full Buck supermoon on the last of 8 nights of imaging, so narrowband filters were the obvious choice. The Clamshell Nebula is only about 2-3 degrees away from the North American Nebula. The magnitude 5 central star ionizing the surrounding gas is 68 Cygni. It's around 2,000 light years away in the constellation Cygnus.
